Inaugural Tiles
The Holland America Line started issuing ceramic tiles commemorating the inaugural voyage of new vessels in 1993 with the inauguration voyages of the ms Statendam and ms Maasdam and has done so ever since. Below you see those tiles depicted that I know to exist, conspicuously absent are tiles of the ms Volendam (1999) and the ms Amsterdam(2011). Should you have tiles not shown on this page, I would appreciate either a 300dpi scan or to purchase/trade the tile. These two tiles commemorate the inaugural voyage of the ms Nieuw Amsterdam in 2010. 2010-inaug-ams-01 is 4" x 4", 2010-inaug-ams-02 is 6" x 6" and comes by courtesy of James Echoff.. I have these tiles in my collection.
